The American Dream

Where would the great United States be without Hollywood? Well, probably facing some world-wide arbitration in order to return the country they took over by force to the rightful owners or maybe answering for war crimes at some tribunal, which should cover every war the US was in ever since the day first settlers set foot onto American soil. The US of A is undoubtedly a financial and military behemoth and lion better left asleep. Any and all countries that dared step up against them wound up in ruins, bombed into oblivion, or as they put it “liberated” and “democracy established”. The biggest mistake people do, when thinking of the US is to put the US and the EU with UK in it into one basket. These two could not be further apart, in fact United States and EU are further apart than the US and the old USSR were during the cold war.

The phrase the American Dream was coined during the time the newly discovered country was largely unpopulated and people were imagining all kind of wonderful things they could accomplish in an unknown and far away world. Because it required abandoning an existing life and venturing into the unknown only adventurers, desperate people and criminals were following the dream into the new lands and the whole story is now glorified by Hollywood as something noble and righteous. In fact, any and all Americans that were righteous and truly trying to find a better life for their families were killed, robbed, disposed of, abandoned, ruined, enslaved, persecuted, defrauded, and you could continue the list with many similar atrocities that were done to these people by the people who are now the top echelon of prosperity and “old money” in the US – the “more righteous than thou” offspring of murderers and thieves.

You may find this very biased and unnecessarily acidy, but despite Europe being similarly full with rich people who did not truly earn their riches through clean business deals and whatnot, the US remains a remainder of particularly our, British, history that was not as clean as we want it to be. It is our former colony that has abandoned us, is now patronizing us, more or less strong-arming the UK into a puppeteering performance, when international policies are decided, it is our sinister past coming back to haunt us and let us know that it was not the Spanish who slaughtered the American Indians, it was us, because at that time, there was no Independence Day yet, no America the beautiful, no Constitution and no denying our own people went there to kill innocents for their own personal gain.

The British history of meddling into conflicts all over the world is very well documented and the UK did not always look clean and proper, despite heavy PR being done to prove the contrary. From the 1945 bombing of Belgrade, when all Nazi troops were already gone, killing thousands of innocent people, to the involvement into NATO campaigns more recently, where nobody can really establish any sane reason why the UK was there in the first place, the British seem to follow the American Dream today still, despite that particular dream being actually a nightmare for everybody involved.
